Launch Handcent Next SMS and follow these steps:
Settings -> All -> Application settings -> Default messaging application -> All (sms & mms)
Settings -> All -> Receive message settings ->Auto retrieve (turn on button )
settings -> All -> Notification settings -> Notify after download ( turn on button )
