Facebook Contact Sync failure. Recently Facebook updated their API so that no third-party application can get access to their data, which is why our feature fails to function properly.
But we have found the solution and solved the issue on our Handcent Next SMS app(Handcent SMS has been upgraded to Handcent Next SMS to give you a better and more stable service.). You can just download it from Play Store.
And go to Settings -> All -> Socail network setttings -> Get Facebook friend's avatars . Once your friend trust the link and you can get their contact picture.
